KGB: true. but paranoya is based on "horror stories" For example, one woman either made a mistake on her tax return or IRS made a mistake or something like that. It was not intentional. Then, many years later, they calculated hundred of thousands $$ of interest and charged her with it. Took away the house, the car, everything. Lately IRS has lost some of its power so it is not as scary. Plus there is a huge movement of the people who learned finally that they are not "obligated" to pay taxes - according to the constitution, taxes are "at will" and all you have to do is file a claim that you are not willing to pay taxes. But you have to have a good constitutional lawer to handle the case. Plus, its lots of pain in the ass to go through the whole process.

Or a trip to Magic Land ...... ShEV, Horror stories are just stories.... I made a mistake this Year (actually my accountant did) and IRS pointed to me and just paid me less back. I had a pleasant conversation with IRS rep. That's it. And it all happend because of Bush's tax credit :))
